Express Lube + Car Care is an Official Vehicle Inspection Station for the state of Texas. Every motor vehicle in the state of Texas is required to receive an annual safety motor vehicle inspection. Getting an annual vehicle inspection isn’t just good maintenance practice, it’s Texas law.
Inspections are conducted under legal requirements and standards set forth by the state of Texas and must be followed exactly as written. The average completion time of the Texas State Vehicle Inspection is 30 minutes; however it all depends how many cars are in front of you. WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CAR FAILS ITS SAFETY INSPECTION?
Your Express Lube + Car Care Inspector will tell you what needs remedying to pass inspection. Retesting is free within fifteen days. The best way to pass the inspection is to keep your car well-maintained and to make any necessary repairs. However, a failed inspection may indicate a bigger underlying issue. When that happens (and with your prior approval, of course), our technicians can diagnose the problem quickly and suggest a course of action.
As a result of House Bill 2305 passed during the 83rd legislative session (2013), the State of Texas no longer issues inspection stickers and has transitioned to a “Two Steps, One Sticker” vehicle inspection and registration program. Your registration sticker serves as combined proof of registration and inspection. Beginning March 1, 2016, you will have 90 days to complete the Two Steps.
